According to your goal and your results, it then gives you dietary recommendations.Ī big element of training or weight loss is understanding what kind of fuel your body is using up. It uses your breath to tell you if you’re burning fat or carbs. So in this article, we’ll see what’s Lumen is and review it which can help you decide if you should buy it or not. Better yet, Lumen has a great iOS app with Apple Health integration. Now a breakthrough handheld device called Lumen is making metabolic testing available to anyone and lets you know how to achieve optimal athletic performance, lose weight, build lean muscle, and more with a personalized nutrition plan. While that can include ways to track calories burned and consumed there hasn’t been an easy way to do metabolic testing at home outside of expensive tests at clinics. I hope to learn from all of you and share other experiences as well.If you like to use your iOS or Android mobile, or Apple Watch as part of your health and fitness journey, you might value all the data they can offer. I wanted to share this because I was looking around for a place that had info on lumen and other products and didn't really find much. Basically in 30 seconds you have results that I have found reliable from my experiences and use. The device I've found that is easiest to use and gets the job done is Keyto. It's concept as stated is a great idea but their execution in creating a product that is easy to use and providing valuable information for customers is terrible.Īnything I would recommend that's similar? I like simple and straight to the point with reliable data and that's easy to use. I'm personally doing IM fasting and keto and the app is just like you should be eating these macronutrient levels. The food recommendations have no context to them. It's just a color coded number 1-5 and they make some recommendations on what food to eat that day. The results you receive back aren't very helpful as well. There is an unreasonable amount of time and frustration that goes into using this device. You have to take 3 breath readings to get a result back. Sometimes to just get a breath reading, I would spend between 5 and 10 minutes from start to finish. It's one of the most annoying things I've ever seen built into an app. When you get the device to work, if you hold the breath for just too long or take too much of a deep breath, the app forces you to restart everything again with a time delay built into it. The mobile app is not very intuitive and there were several connection issues over different periods of time in getting the device to work. That's about where the positives stop for me. The device itself is physically built really well. I've seen as I've gotten older my metabolism definitely isn't what it used to be and was looking for every bit of data I could find to help with understanding how certain foods and drinks affect my body and so forth without having to prick my finger each time with a glucose meter. I've tried a variety of different devices that are out there. I was very interested in the concept of trying to understand my metabolism better and was looking for data to do this. I wanted to share my experiences with the Lumen metabolism tracking device.
